West Forsyth rallies past Chestatee for thrilling OT win
As good as Chestatee’s Ben Souther was in the first half, West Forsyth’s Lance Baker was even better in the second half Friday night in the two teams’ Region 7-AAA battle at War Eagle Stadium. Baker capped a wild finish running in a two-point conversion in overtime to give the Wolverines a thrilling 42-41 win over Chestatee.

Late rally keeps No. 1 Buford unbeaten
The Buford Wolves found themselves down three points and 99 yards from the end zone with less than three minutes to go against Blessed Trinity Friday night. But the Wolves responded with a drive that saved the day and their perfect record on the year, as they came back to beat Blessed Trinity 14-10 at Tom Riden Stadium.

Falcons take must-win over West Forsyth, clinch playoff spot
Facing a must-win situation Friday night to make the Class AAA playoffs, the Flowery Branch football team came through when it mattered most. The Falcons scored 28 straight points to blow open a close game en route to a 42-16 win over West Forsyth in a critical Region 7B-AAA game for both teams. The winner was assured of a playoff spot while the loser was out based on tiebreakers.

Trojans clinch playoff spot, rout rival Chestatee
On a rainy Friday night the bad news poured down all over the Chestatee football team’s hopes of making the Class AAA playoffs. The War Eagles could not overcome two costly turnovers, three special teams breakdowns, and numerous big plays by North Hall swamped Chestatee all night in a 55-24 Trojans’ win over their arch-rivals at The Brickyard.

Head coach Tony Wolfe of the defending Class AA Buford girls softball team remembers the 2007 state tournament all too well. Buford headed to Columbus knowing that Greater Atlanta Christian, a team they had lost to 3 of 4 times during the season, was a virtual lock to win the state title.
