Flowery Branch City Council Thursday night heard concerns from nearby Tidewater Cove homeowners and assurances from developer Frank McGowan and voted unanimously in favor of a rezoning of an 18 acre tract on Lights Ferry Road that would allow construction of 98 single family homes in a Planned Unit Development.

Lula mayor breaks tie vote on rezoning
In a rare tie breaking vote, Lula Mayor Milton Turner Monday night decided to support a rezoning request from trucking terminal owner Tony McGuire of Gainesville to change his 17 acre tract at Mountain View and Highway 365 from Highway Business to Light Industrial.
