CLEVELAND - The current economic conditions and more competition have
forced the owners of the Piggly Wiggly store in Cleveland to close the
business.
Store Manager Eric Webb said October 17 will be the final day of business. Webb said that multiple things led to the decision to shut down. The Cleveland Store has been in business since 1983. A decision like this is never an easy one to handle and Webb, who has been with the Cleveland store for 10 ½ years, said the regular customers are really taking it hard.
The stores are independently owned, and owners of the Cleveland store also have others around the state; inventory in the store after Sunday will be move to other stores.
