AUGUSTA -- Devin Stanton pitched a two-hit shutout and Wesleyan beat Aquinas 13-0 on Friday to clinch the Class A state championship.
Wesleyan beat Aquinas 9-4 in Friday's first game of the best-of-three series.
Wesleyan became the 10th school in history and first this decade to win three straight state titles, including one at the Class AA level.
Aquinas, a private school looking for its first state championship, loaded the bases in the first inning but couldn't score against Stanton, a Georgia Tech signee. The second game was called due to the 10-run rule after Aquinas hit in the fifth inning.
