(Cleveland)- White County's Vision 2020 a group that met one year ago to look at and develop strategic planning process for the county came together again Tuesday night to provide a report on their progress. Last year the group was divided into subcommittees that looked at nine different issues and concerns which included Employment , tourism, infrastructure, education and retirement.
Bill Black of Cleveland was the Chairman of the Vision 2020 and he said he was impressed with the combined efforts Black said, " real pleased with the turn out, the committee folks, lots of committee folks, lot of enthusiasm I was ticked to death with out meeting tonight." The Vision 2020 group has been working under the direction of the White County Chamber of Commerce and White County Economic Development.
Dennis Epps Associate Director of Government Services and Research, with the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of government was the facilitator of the initial meeting and returned Tuesday night to facilitate the meeting. Epps said he works with counties and cities around the state and he was impressed with the work done here. After hearing reports from each of the nine subcommittees, Epps challenged the group to get to work and develop plans to meet the goals they have identified during the earlier meetings.
