ATLANTA - A short list of candidates to fill two Enotah Judicial Circuit judge vacancies has been released by Gov. Nathan Deal's Judicial Nominating Commission.
The commission interviewed 15 applicants and released its short list at the end of last week.
The list includes former Enotah Circuit District Attorney Stan Gunter, White County Chief Magistrate Judge Joy Parks and White County attorney Stan Lawson. Also making the list is Dahlonega Attorney Raymond George and Hiawassee City Manager Richard Stancil.
The two vacancies came in March when judges David Barrett and Lynn Akeley-Alderman resigned in the wake of investigations by the Judicial Qualifications Commission for alleged misconduct.
There's no word yet on when the governor will make a decision.
