GAINESVILLE — Two longtime July 4 traditions will continue in Hall County this year: the Arts Council's patriotic pops concert and the American Legion lakeside celebration.
The theme for this year's concert is "Celebrating Our Independence," and will be performed by the Northwinds Symphonic Band July 3 on the lawn of The Arts Council Smithgall Arts Center at 8:00. Gates will open at 6:00. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and students. Tables of 8, $184. Series tickets $90 each. A 7% tax will be charged to all ticket sales. The next day, American Legion Post #7 in Gainesville will host its annual daylong celebration at Laurel Park, complete with a variety of activities for adults and youngsters on the shores of Lake Lanier, culiminating with a fireworks show at dusk.
