Hall schools among winners of Healthy Georgia Awards

The Hall County School System is one of the winners in the state's Second Annual Healthy Georgia Awards.

Hall schools tied with Paulding County Schools in the "Innovation" category, according to an announcement from Lt. Governor Casey Cagle's office. 

This year's awards recognized nine non-profits, communities and school districts, for their "extraordinary" results in promoting and fostering health and wellness among Georgia’s youth.

*Communities Awards

Legacy: The Healthy Colquitt Coalition

All-Star: City of Kennesaw Parks & Recreation

Innovation: Live Healthy Gwinnett

*Non-Profits Awards

Legacy: HealthMPowers

All-Star: Southeast United Dairy Industry Assn, Inc.

Innovation: YMCA of Metro Atlanta

*School Districts

Legacy: Clayton County School District

All-Star: Cobb County School District

Innovation: Hall & Paulding County School District (tie)
