Delta.com grows online ticket sales 60 percent in 2001

ATLANTA - Delta Air Lines today announced that more than 4.2 million Delta tickets were purchased at its Web site in 2001, representing a 60 percent growth in ticket sales over last year. <br>

This represents 10 percent of Delta's total ticket sales and generated $1.1 billion in revenue, up more than 40 percent from the $775 million generated in 2000.<br>
<br>
Total Delta online ticket sales, including delta.com, MYOBTravel and all other online travel agencies, amounted to 20 percent of the airline's total ticket sales -- up from 13 percent in 2000 -- growing distribution cost savings 50 percent over last year.<br>
