Chief of national cattlemen's association resigns

DENVER - The National Cattlemen&#39;s Beef Association is searching for a new chief executive. <br> <br> Chuck Schroeder announced Wednesday that he will resign effective March 1 to become executive director of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Okla. <br> <br> Terry Stokes, executive vice president and chief financial officer of the trade association, has been named to temporarily fill the vacancy. Association leaders said a search committee would be formed to fill the job permanently. <br> <br> Schroeder became the Denver-based organization&#39;s first chief executive officer in November 1995. <br> <br> During his tenure, Schroeder completed the merger of the National Live Stock and Meat Board and the National Cattlemen&#39;s Association. <br> <br> He also worked to develop strategies to stabilize and increase beef demand, and he relocated the association to a new office in Denver. <br> <br> The National Cattlemen&#39;s Beef Association is the trade association of the nation&#39;s cattle farmers and ranchers, and a marketing organization for the industry. <br> <br>
