GAINESVILLE - Rezoning requests for two new subdivisions in Hall County, totaling 71 homes, were recommended for approval Monday night by the county planning board.

One of them, in the Summit Chase/Price Road area, calls for 36 new homes.

Planning director Bill Meyer says the planning staff had recommended 24 houses "based on the adjoining subdivision through which the traffic to this new project would come that also had lower-density lots."

The board did recommend a 25-foot natural buffer alone one part of the property line.
"(This will be) along the southside of the project adjacent to a nearby resident who spoke in opposition," Meyer said.

The planning commission also recommended approval of a 35-lot subdivision on Bob Bryant Road near Pennington Point Subdivision.
