DAWSONVILLE - Tragedy has struck North Hall High School again with the deaths of a senior at the school and her younger sister in a traffic accident.

18-year-old Robyn Gilstrap and 14-year-old Stormi Gilstrap, a passenger in her car, were killed Sunday night in a two-car wreck on Highway 53 in Dawson County near Bright's Way.

A state patrol spokesman says the accident occurred when Gilstrap lost control of her car in a curve, crossed the centerline and struck the other vehicle. He says the younger girl was thrown from the vehicle.

The driver of the other car, Shawne Slayton of Dawsonville, was injured and lifeflighted to Atlanta Medical Center.

Robyn Gilstrap was a Senior at North Hall, and, the third student from that school and the fifth in the Hall County School System to die in a traffic accident this year; her sister was a student at Dawson Middle School.

"(Robyn) was a member of DECA, that's the marketing club and she had served as (the principal's) office aide during the first semester," Hall County schools spokesman Gordon Higgins said.
