CUMMING - Current and pending legal challenges to Forsyth County's billboard ordinance have prompted the county commission to impose a temporary moratorium on new billboards in the county.
The county's Assistant Director for Planning and Development, Jeff Chance, says the moratorium was effective March 25.
Chance says it won't expire until 60 days after the case is settled.
Trinity Outdoor LLC filed the suit in August in federal court in Gainesville.
The county has continued to receive billboard applications despite the litigation.
