HOSCHTON - Charges of a political cover-up involving the city council's handling of recent accusations against the Hoschton police chief have led the council to ask the GBI to investigate.

According to the Jackson Herald, the city council's police committee found no evidence of wrongdoing by Chief Dave Hill after investigating complaints that he was getting paid for hours he was not working.

But, a number of citizens were not satisfied with that have alleged a political cover-up on the part of the council. In response, the council ask the GBI to investigate.

Hill says he welcomes the GBI probe.
