BUENA VISTA, COLORADO - A Hall County teenager is getting an "up close and personal" look at that massive Colorado wildfire.

Lauryn Hackney, 17, Flowery Branch is working at a Young Life camp about 50 miles from the fire, and, says, for now, it is moving away from the camp.

However, Hackney says the camp is feeling the effect of the fire, in the form of smoke.

"...we were getting smoke throughout the camp, and, some of the mountains off in the distance, we couldn't see because of the smoke."

Hackney says the camp has an evacuation plan in place should it be threatened by the fire.

"I do know that the work crew and summer staff will be notified and given time to get together and pack up and leave," she said.

Hackney says she isn't worried about her safety, but that's not true of everyone.

"...one one of my work crew friends has already had her bags packed," Hackney added.

Hackney, a student at Gainesville High School, is scheduled to return to Gainesville in about two weeks. She arrived in Colorado about two weeks ago.
