It was the Gainesville woman's second night of preliminaries to the Saturday night finals, and, Miss Oklahoma was the winner in the talent category.
Mulkey, the 23-year-old daughter of George and Diane Mulkey of Gainesville, is the reigning Miss Georgia and Thursday night will compete in the evening wear preliminaries.
The new Miss America will be crowned Saturday night.
