GAINESVILLE - A Latino advocate from Gainesville has launched an internet campaign to get at least two Mexican immigrants appointed to the Latino Commission for a New Georgia.

Greg Bautista tells the Atlanta Journal-Consitution Mexican immigrants in Georgia have what he calls "unique challenges and experiences" and their "perspectives" should be on the table.

Called "Es la Hora", or The Time is Now, the campaign has resulted in more than 150 e-mails being sent to the commission chairman, Charles Asensio.

Asensio says the matter will be taken up by the commission at a meeting later this month.
