GAINESVILLE - If you're already thinking about what you are going to do with your Christmas tree, you might want to keep in mind Hall County's "Bring One for the Chipper" program.

You can leave the tree at any county compactor site. But, if you wait until Saturday January 3, you can leave them at the county's recycling center on Chestnut Street or the city of Gainesville mulching site on Alta Vista Road.

In exchange, and for as long as they last, you'll receive a free dogwood seedling.

The trees will be turned into mulch which will be available in a few weeks on a first-come, first-serve basis.
