GAINESVILLE - The State Transportation Improvement Program will be the subject of a public meeting in Gainesville May 6.

The program is a three-year plan for federally funded projects that includes Interstate and State Route improvements, bridge projects, maintenance work, and bicycle and pedestrian projects, according to District Engineer Larry Dent.

Also, transportation enhancement activities and public transit projects.

The meeting will be held at the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) District Office on Athens Highway from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

The "open house" style meeting will include a review of GDOT's upcoming federally funded projects.

Agency engineers will be on hand to answer questions.
