GAINESVILLE - Lakewood Baptist Church plans to hold a 9-11 Commemoration Service Thursday morning at 11:30.

Church officials expect the service to last "30-45 minutes."

In an e-mail from the church, Senior Pastor Tom Smiley said the service will include "bagpipe music, the
freedom quilt, support for our armed forces, memorials to victims-firefighters-emergency personnel-law enforcement...laying the wreath."

Dr. Smiley also says as part of the service worshipers form a 'twin tower' of faith and hope.

The church was the site of the funeral in October 2001 of Edna Stephens, the Gainesville native who died in the attack on the Pentagon.
