GAINESVILLE - The City of Gainesville plans to begin installing new traffic calming measures on Riverside Drive Tuesday.

Public works crews on Tuesday morning will begin re-striping Riverside between Morningside and East Enota and ask that cars and trucks not be parked on the street from 8 a.m. Tuesday through midday Thursday.

The city hopes the striping will lower speeds on the residential street and improve pedestrian safety.

The city will evaluate results of this section of the street and conduct a public meeting Thursday September 25 at 7:00 to gather input from area residents. The location of the meeting will be announced later.
