School officials say the incident took place earlier this month outside an assistant principal's, one day after a confrontation between the two in the lunchroom.
They say a lunchroom worker overhead the alleged attacker, who is white, use a racial slur in telling the other student, who is black, to get off his shoe.
The student who was attacked received several stitches for a cut near one of his eyes; his alleged attacker has been suspended for the rest of the semester.
