GAINESVILLE - Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 3:00 for Robert S. Parker, Jr., a former longtime employee of WDUN, who died Saturday.

Parker retired after 35 years of broadcasting much of it with WDUN. He was also a former employee of WGGA when it was not a part of Jacobs Media Corporation, the parent company of WDUN. Parker served for several years in the 1960s as news director at WDUN but held a number of other positions with the company during his career.

At one time he was Traffic Director, the person in charge of putting the logs together which are used to tell producers, board operators, disc jockeys, etc. when to play commercials, etc. In that capacity, Parker was the first employee to use a computer at WDUN.

(See complete obit elsewhere on this site.)
