GAINESVILLE - Less than three days after the "big day," Christmas trees are already piling up a trash compactor sites around Hall County, headed to the county's recycling center.

Trees can also be taken to the center, which is locatred on Chestnut Street.

In the City of Gainesville, trees may be left at the curbside. All will be recycled into mulch. The mulch will be used by the city and county governments on public lands and some of it will be made available to the public in a few weeks.

If you wait until Saturday, January 8, to turn your tree in, you'll get a free seedling as part of Georgia's 15th Annual Bring One for the Chipper program.
