GAINESVILLE - City utilities department crews responded to Adair Street in Gainesville Wednesday to an overflow of wastewater, containing what appeared to be ink.

Steve Payne, Enviornmental and Treatment Services Division Manager, says some of the wastewater got into Rock Creek.

Payne says the leak was "stopped immediately" but not before about 100 gallons of the wastewater flowed into the creek.

He says it was discovered about 4:00 Wednesday afternoon and it appeared to come "from an address" on Adair Street.

Two years ago, about 75,000 gallons of wastewater got into the creek after a contractor accidentally hit a sewer line.
