ATLANTA - Power has been restored to most of the 3,000 Georgia Power customers, most in metro Atlanta, who lost power during stormy weather overnight.

A spokesman for Georgia Power says the outages occurred in parts of Cobb and Douglas counties and in northwest Atlanta.

About 3,000 people were without power at the height of the storm.

So far, there are no reports of weather-related problems in northeast Georgia. By 6:00 Tuesday morning, the AccessNorthGa Weather Center had recorded almost 1.5 inches of rain in the past 24 hours - the first measurable rainfall of the month and more than the entire month of March.

The rain is expected to continue into Tuesday evening.
