GAINESVILLE - Two Hall countians will be among the delegates representing Georgia Republicans at the GOP's national convention in New York late this summer.

Wesley Clark was chosen a delegate, Bettye Chambers, an alternate, during the 10th District Republican Convention held Saturday in Rock Spring, Georgia.

Additionally, the convention approved two resolutions authored by the Hall County Republican Party-one on marriage, one on illegal immigration-and will forward those to the state GOP convention.

"Wesley and Bettye will serve Hall County, the 10th District and all of Georgia well," said Joe Cwik, chairman of the Hall County Republican Party (HCRP). "They're strong conservatives who know Gainesville and Hall County, and have a keen sense of what Georgians expect government to do, and just as important, what they expect it not to do."

Republicans chose delegates Saturday in conventions held in each of Georgia's 13 Congressional Districts. Additional delegates will be chosen May 14-15 at the state convention in Columbus. The GOP national convention will be held August 30
