GAINESVILLE - City officials say a busy three-street Gainesville intersection - Maple/Oak/West Academy - will be closed for three weeks beginning Saturday.

It's just one of several street closings and construction projects announced by the city this week.

The public works department says the Oak/Maple/West Academy intersection, which is near Hall County Library headquarters, is scheduled to be closed from Saturday through November 6.

The department also says Myrtle Street from Osborne Street to Barn Street, which was closed Monday, will not reopen until Sunday.

Lanier Avenue will be closed to all through traffic from Wednesday until Friday from Juanita Avenue to Walker Street.

And, South Enota will be closed for a week - until Oct. 19 - beginning Wednesday.
