'Father' of Murrayville Gathering dies

GAINESVILLE - The funeral will be held Thursday for the father of the annual Murrayville Gathering, who died Tuesday following a period of declining health. <br> <br> Robert &#34;Brother&#34; Spriggs had lived his entire life in Murrayville. <br> <br> He was a former Justice of the Peace - serving for 25 years in that capacity - and was well-known for his loyalty to the Democratic Party and served for many years on the Hall County Democratic Party Committee.<br> <br> Spriggs, 69, also served on the Hall County Board of Family and Children&#39;s Services, Lanier Tech Advisory Board, Hall County Library Board and the first Hall County Merger Study Committee. <br> <br> The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.<br>
