GANIESVILLE - The Georgia Department of Transportation plans another night of work Wednesday as it tries to finish a renovation project on Longstreet Bridge in North Hall.

Weather permitting, the Cleveland Highway span will be closed to all traffic from 9 p.m. Wednesday until 5 a.m. Thursday.

"The contractor will work on their punch list overnight Wednesday night. Their work is more rain sensitive than temperature sensitive so unless it is raining hard, we will be out there working to finish the bridge," said Gainesville GDOT District Engineer Russell McMurry explains. "We expect it to take at least one more overnight closing for them to complete the punch list work."

The detour route will direct motorists to use SR 284/Clarks Bridge Road to take them back to US 129/State Route 11.
