GAINESVILLE - Vision 2030 is still accepting public comment on what Gainesville and Hall County should be like 25 years from now - only this time you can post your opinions via the Internet.

Vision 2030 Executive Director Denise Deal, commenting at a taping of Sunday's Northeast Georgia This Week Tuesday, said that just because the series of public hearings is over, doesn't mean you still can't comment. Deal says a questionnaire is available on the Vision 2030 Web site and that comments posted their will be complied with information from the hearings before the report is put together.

Deal says he was pleased with the turnout at the hearings. She and other organizers had been hoping for at least 100 people at each of the 12 hearings. Deal says about 750 showed up and, percentage-wise, that is comparable or perhaps a little better than for visioning projects in two larger cities, Greenville, S.C. and Chattanooga , Tenn.

Phase two of the process begins next month with the final draft of the report expected to be ready in June.
