GAINESVILLE - Three Gainesville residents were recently recognized by Brenau University.

John Jacobs, Jr., was honored for his 48 years of service; Cheryl Christian was awarded this year's Mary Mildred Sullivan award, and Grace Hooten Moore, this year's Distinguished Service Award.

Jacobs has been a member of the Brenau Board of Trustees 48 years, 23 as chairman; Christian was cited for her service to healthcare and family issues in Hall County for more than 30 years; and Moore has been a longtime supporter of Brenau and was the first woman to chair the Board of Trustees.
