GAINESVILLE - The Lake Lanier Rowing Club (LLRC) will host nearly 600 athletes from approximately 15 college rowing crews from this weekend through most of March.

The colleges and universities are situated primarily in the northeast where early spring training may be hampered by frozen rivers and lakes. Rowing competition begins in late March, so a chance to get some real practice time on the water before then is a big advantage. Some of the crews return to the Lake Lanier Olympic Center year after year to train.

Brenau University feeds and houses many of the students.

The crews slated to visit are:

Feb. 19-26-Brandeis Univ.
Univ. of Western Ontario

March 5-12---Ithaca College
Holy Cross College
Univ. of Connecticut

March 12-19---Hobart and William Smith College
Wesleyan Univ.
Va. Commonwealth Univ.
Univ. of RI
Smith College

March 19-26---Colby College
Salisbury School
Wellesley College
