Figueras to be honored March 16

ATHENS- City Councilwoman Myrtle Figueras, a retired school teacher, has been chosen as the Girl Scouts of Northeast Georgia 2005 Gainesville Woman of Distinction.

Figueras will be honored at an awards luncheon March 16 at First United Methodist Church in Gainesville.

Past winners include Nell Wiegand, Frances Meadows and Kathrine Williams.
