Change in command planned at Gainesville Salvation Army

GAINESVILLE - The leaders of the Salvation Army in Gainesville have a new assignment elsewhere in the state.

David and Jessica Swyers, commanders of the local unit, are moving to Columbus.

They will be replaced by Vick and Ellen Tidman, who will come to
Gainesville from Fairfax, Virginia.

The change in in leadership, effective June 29, was announced at Wednesday's Gainesville Salvation Army Advisory Board meeting.
