GAINESVILLE - Developers won and protesting homeowners lost Thursday night in a battle before Hall Commissioners to stop a controversial twelve-lot subdivision on Clarks Bridge Road at Nopone Road.
Attorney Rob Chambers, representing Ertzberger Builders, said lot size would not allow an interior road and driveways had to access on the roads.

Homeowner Denise Deal and several other property holders said road access would add to an already hazardous traffic situation.

Commissioners approved the subdivision 3-2 with Chairman Tom Oliver and Deborah Mack voting no.

NO DOG PARK YET

County Commissioner Steve Gailey wants more information before he approves sixteen thousand dollars for dog park fencing at Laurel Park.

Gailey got the request removed and tabled saying a dog park might present an environmental problem for nearby Lake Lanier

Parks and Leisure Services Director Deborah Mockus said rules and regulations would be posted governing sanitation and pet handling.
