Fire destroys pickup, damages apt.

GAINESVILLE - Fire destroyed a pickup and damaged an apartment at Butler Street Apartments in Gainesville Wednesday morning.

Capt. Jimmy Lathem of the Gainesville Fire Department said the blaze started in or around the pickup and spread to the apartment.

There was not one at home at the time and there were no injuries. Capt. Lathem says the fire was quickly brought under control.

The call came in about 10:00.
