GAINESVILLE - The year may be winding down but the number of new homes being built in Hall County remains steady.

Hall County Building Inspection Services reports issuing 110 permits last month for new, single-family homes expected to cost nearly $20 million to build.

In October, 115 were okayed.

In addition, there were 20 permits approved for commercial/industrial projects - three of them accounting for nearly $2 million worth of construction.
