Longtime Gainesville dentist dies

GAINESVILLE - Funeral services will be held Saturday for Dr. Thomas Paul Garrison, Jr. a longtime Gainesville dentist. <br> <br> Dr. Garrison, the owner of Blue Ridge Dental Center, died Wednesday at the medical center at the age of 81.<br> <br> He was employed in the funeral service industry as an embalmer until graduation from Emory Dental School in 1960. Dr. Garrison practiced dentistry in several Georgia towns, including Thomson and Macon, but for the past 20 years he practiced in Gainesville, where he owned and operated Blue Ridge Dental Center. <br> <br> The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 at Memorial park Funeral Home Chapel.
