DAWSONVILLE - State and local authorities are still trying to positively identify a body found inside the charred remains of a house in Dawson County earlier this week.

Sgt. Tony Wooten of the Dawson County Sheriff's Office says the cause of death is still a mystery - and says nothing has been ruled out, including homicide.

Sgt. Wooten said the house was on Admirals Point off War Hill Park Road in the southern part of the county. The fire was Tuesday night.

The officer said two people are believed to have lived there. Wooten said one may be the victim, of course, and the other has not been located. Neighbors reported the fire.

In addition to the sheriff's department, other agencies involved in the investigation are the GBI, the state Fire Marshal's Office, and the Dawson County Fire Department.
