The board of directors of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce has approved a resolution calling for passage of the referendum.
The county school system would get the lion's share of anticipated sales tax revenues - $166 million. The Gainesvile and Buford school systems would share the rest. A five-year extension of the SPLOST would raise about $197 million.
The referendum will be on the July 18 primary election ballots.
