City, county budget process begins

GAINESVILLE - As sure as the pollen in the air and blooming azaleas , its time for local governments to begin their annual budget process - and the Hall County Commission got the ball rolling Tuesday and will continue with another meeting Wednesday.

The city council sessions begin Thursday at 8:30 in the city manager's conference room and will be followed by the council's regular work session.

Several departments will present their budget proposals to the council over the course of about 2 1/2 hours, including municipal court, fire, solid waste, and public works.

The county will continue its budget hearings next week - on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
