For one thing, the parents of students at the affected schools have a decision to make.
That decision is whether to send their children to another, higher-performing school. State education officials say letters explaining that option should be going out in the next couple of weeks. In addition, those schools not making AYP must offer extra tutoring for struggling students.
Last year twelve Hall County schools were on the list, compared to eleven this year. And, a year ago, all seven schools in the Gainesville system MET the AYP criteria. This year, two did not.
