Break in hot weather only temporary

GAINESVILLE - You could still work up a sweat doing yard work but the weekend brought a welcome change around Gainesville to the unusually hot weather. However, don't let your guard down, it was only a brief respite.

For only the third time in 17 days, the high in Gainesville Friday did not reach 90. It was 81... fourteen degrees lower than Thursday's 95.

And, the trend continued Saturday, when the high reached only 75, and Sunday when the mercury topped out at 80.

But, more seasonal temperatures are expected this week, with highs around 90, still several degrees above the average of 83 for this time of the year.
