That train was sponsored by Operation Lifesaver, a nonprofit group that educates drivers on the importance of stopping at rail crossings.
Nationwide in 2004, according to the Operation Lifesaver Web site, at least 368 people were killed and more than a thousand were seriously injured in railroad crossing accidents.
