GAINESVILLE - A teacher at North Hall High School has been chosen for a National Future Farmers of America (FAA) award.

The Georgia Future Farmers of America Association nominated Johnny Sutton for the Honorary American FFA Degree. The award is given to those "who advance agricultural education and FFA through outstanding personal commitment." Less than one percent of all middle and secondary educators in the country will receive it.

The Honorary American FFA Degree is an opportunity "to acknowledge those who have gone beyond the valuable daily contributions to make an extraordinary long-term difference motivating and caring for students."

Sutton will travel to Indianapolis, Ind., to receive the award during the 79th National FFA Convention, Oct. 25-28.
