DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA - Matt Fields made a last-second layup to lead Georgia Southern to a 72-70 win over Cleveland State at the Glenn Wilkes Classic on Friday.

Fields caught a short ally-oop pass from Dwayne Foreman to put in the game-winner with .01 on the clock.

Georgia Southern (1-1), who trailed for the entire second half, tied the game at 70 with 31 seconds remaining, when senior forward Louis Graham hit a lay up after blocking a dunk by J'Nathan Bullock on the defensive end.

Georgia Southern shot just 36 percent on field-goals in the second half, but got 42 points off the bench and 24 points off turnovers. The Eagles also held Bullock, the Vikings leading scorer with 19 points per game, to eight second-half points.

Georgia Southern struggled to find offense in the second, but got 18 points from Graham and 13 from Anthony Marshall. Freshman guard Willie Powers added 12 points.

Cleveland State (1-2) led 40-36 at halftime and had 12-point lead with less than 15 minutes remaining. Guard Cedric Jackson had a game-high 21 points and nine assists. Bullock, who finished with 15 points, went 6-for-11 in the paint.

Bullock also went 3-for-4 from the free-throw line Friday, ending a perfect 16-for-16 streak to start the season.

Graham added three blocks to extend his career total to 157, which is the most in Georgia Southern program history.
