FLOWERY BRANCH - Flowery Branch City Council Wednesday learned how much new development the city's new Tax Allocation District or TAD could bring to town.

Voters approved the TAD in Flowery Branch in a special referendum in September, and consultant Gary Mongeon presented a plan indicating over $120-million in new development during a public hearing at City Hall.

"That investment, if it occurs, could support $11-million in financing for public infrastructure improvements," Mongeon said.

Mongeon said that's revenue that the taxpayers would not have to pay for.

Those improvements would include expanding the waste water treatment plant, transportation upgrades and revitalization in the city's historic district.
