Buford woman featured in PARADE magazine

NEW YORK - A Buford woman was recently featured in Parade Magazine's "What People Earn" Salary Survey.

Laura Blank is a 23-year-old children's librarian, who earns $30,700.

She was one of five Georgians featured in the 24th annual edition of the survey which was published in the Sunday newspaper magazine's April 15 edition.

None of them made the cover of the magazine which is an insert in certain Sunday newspapers across the country.

The other Georgians who were featured are: William Chapin, a 57-year-old aircraft mechanic from Fayetteville, who earns $58,000 a year; Alfred Chapel, a 49-year-old correctional worker from Hampton, who earns $77,600 a year; Jim Kurish, a 55-year-old respiratory therapist from Macon who earns $87,000 a year, and Marilea Butler, a 47-year-old USAF logistics specialist from Warner Robins, who earns $44,400, are featured.

Among the more notables included in this year's survey: NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson, $15.8 million; CBS news anchor Katie Couric, $15 million; country music singer Kenny Chesney, $75.9 million; Arizona Sen. John McCain, $165,200; Karl Rove, Assistant to the President, $165,200; and, actor Will Smith, $25 million.
