Cold puts the brakes on racing

CHESTNUT MOUNTAIN - The prospect of an usually cold springtime evening has put the brakes on Saturday night's racing program at Lanier National Speedway.

Raceway officials cancelled the regular weekly program Friday morning following forecasts that included a freeze warning for Saturday night, with temperatures dropping through the 30s to around 25 by Sunday morning.
